Proven expertise in sheet piling
For more than 15 years, Wal-Beschoeiing.nl has been supplying materials to private individuals, contractors, municipalities and water boards throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. From small garden ponds to large municipal waterworks — we have the experience and range for every project.
Private project
Garden pond in Utrecht
A private customer in Utrecht wanted to provide the banks of his large garden pond (approximately 25 linear meters) with a sustainable and maintenance-free solution. The existing wooden revetment had rotted after 20 years and had to be completely replaced.
Material: Prolock Light in anthracite
Challenge: The pond was in a backyard with limited access for heavy equipment. The customer wanted to install the revetment himself to save costs.
Solution: Thanks to the low weight of the Prolock Light, the customer was able to manually bring the material to the backyard and install it himself using our manual. The result: a sleek, modern bank finish that lasts 50+ years without any maintenance.

Agricultural project
Ditch revetment in Friesland
A dairy farmer in the Frisian peat meadow area suffered from serious bank erosion along 180 linear meters of ditch. The eroding banks led to loss of pasture and pollution of surface water.
Material: Azobe hardwood sheet pile planks 40 mm with azobé posts 8×8 cm
Challenge: The peat meadow area has a soft subsoil, which required a greater pile depth. In addition, the project had to be carried out in phases so as not to disrupt business operations.
Solution: In consultation with the contractor, we supplied longer planks for the extra pile depth in the peat soil. The project was carried out in three phases over two months. The hardwood revetment gives the banks the strength needed in this intensively used agricultural landscape.

Municipal project
Watercourse in Drenthe
A municipality in Drenthe had to renovate approximately 400 linear meters of waterway in a residential area. The old concrete revetment was at the end of its life and had to be replaced with a more durable and aesthetically pleasing alternative.
Material: Prolock Sigma in brown, combined with hardwood deck planks
Challenge: The project was located in a residential area with limited work space and strict noise standards. The municipality required a lifespan of at least 40 years and a natural appearance.
Solution: The combination of Prolock Sigma (for construction) with hardwood deck planks (for finishing) offered the best of both worlds: the long-lasting constructive strength of plastic with the warm, natural look of wood on top. The tender was based on a tailor-made quotation with graduated prices.

Private project
Villa garden in North Holland
The owner of a villa on a canal in North Holland wanted a representative bank finish that matches the high level of finishing of the garden. The existing sheet piling was outdated and no longer met the aesthetic wishes.
Material: Azobe hardwood sheet pile planks 50 mm with azobé deck planks
Challenge: The customer had high demands on the visual appearance. The revetment had to fit seamlessly into the existing garden design with natural stone terraces and a jetty.
Solution: We created a robust and elegant bank finish with 50 mm azobé sheet pile planks and matching deck planks. The extra thickness of 50 mm gives a solid, premium appearance that fits perfectly with the character of the villa. The customer consciously chose the warmth of hardwood over plastic.

Recreational project
Campsite in Overijssel
A campsite owner in Overijssel had to protect the banks of the recreational pond and the adjacent ditches. The guests use the water intensively and the banks quickly erode due to treading and waves.
Material: Prolock Sigma in brown for the pond, Prolock Light in brown for the narrower ditches
Challenge: The material had to be child-friendly (no splinters), maintenance-free and resistant to intensive use by camping guests.
Solution: Prolock plastic was the ideal choice: no splinters, no maintenance and resistant to impacts and intensive use. We chose the Sigma for the main pond because of the greater load, for the narrow ditches the lighter (and cheaper) Light variant was sufficient. The campsite now offers a safe and tidy water environment for all guests.

Industrial project
Business park in Groningen
On an industrial estate in Groningen, a 300-metre-long waterway had to be shod as part of the site redevelopment. The revetment had to be able to withstand heavy loads from freight traffic in the immediate area.
Material: Azobe hardwood sheet pile planks 50 mm with heavy azobé posts 10×10 cm
Challenge: Heavy earth pressure due to near freight traffic and storage areas. The structure had to be able to withstand incidental loads from vehicles driving close to the waterfront.
Solution: With the heaviest version in our range — 50 mm azobé planks on 10×10 cm posts — a construction was created that can withstand the heavy loads on an industrial estate. The larger pile dimensions and shorter pile distances (1.0 m instead of the standard 1.5 m) guarantee the necessary stability for the next 40+ years.
